Your family, friends and good health,
Happiness doesn't come from money
Blessings are the measure of wealth.
Don't see it by what you don't have
Be grateful for those things you do,
Your true assets aren't worth money
They're blessings bestowed upon you.

Daily Poem--September 15, 2009
This poem is dedicated to my son, Tyler, and his friend Dustin, for the work they are doing for Suicide Prevention week. They will be at a forum tonight at Ben Davis High School! Good job, guys! I am very proud of you and the examples you set.
Today may look bleak to you
Giving up is on your side,
You don't think anyone cares
As you ponder suicide.
There is light in the tunnel
And there's a reason to be,
The sun will rise tomorrow
Just give it a chance and see!

It may seem like a bad day
Bless those with your lovely smile,
That happiness you share will
Travel far mile after mile.
The joy from your parting lips
Will fill in that empty hole,
They'll become happy after
Seeing the love in your soul.

Too much time is lost being mad
Not able to settle the score,
Getting together to compromise
Becomes way too big of a chore.
Time becomes water under the bridge
Our differences get in the way,
The friendship drifts farther apart
